Privacy Policy — رقيب (Raqib)
Last updated: 9 May 2026
رقيب is a privacy-first iOS app for tracking your prayers, adhkar, fasting, Quran reading, and self-accountability (muhasaba). This document explains, in plain language, what data the app handles and where it goes.
TL;DR
- Almost everything stays on your iPhone. Your prayer records, muhasaba notes, khatma progress, and settings never leave your device.
- The only optional cloud feature is الأخلّاء (Akhilaa) — friend tracking. If you sign in for it, you give us an email + password and we sync your daily prayer status. You can delete the account permanently from inside the app at any time.
- No analytics. No ads. No third-party tracking. We do not sell, share, or rent your data. There are no advertising or analytics SDKs in this app.
1. Data stored only on your device
Everything below is saved in your iPhone's local storage (iOS UserDefaults). It is never sent to our servers or any third party:
- Your name (optional)
- Your gender
- Your prayer records (مسجد / بيت / لم تُؤدَّ for each of the 5 daily prayers)
- Your sunnah, adhkar, daily-habit, and fasting status
- Your daily muhasaba notes, intentions, sins/wins lists
- Your Khatma (Quran reading) progress and goals
- Your istighfar count
- Your settings: location, calculation method, madhab, alarm configurations, theme, notification preferences
If you delete the app, all of this is permanently lost. There is no automatic cloud backup.
